Two places to get proper burgers in Newcastle

Newcastle is the only city where we have two BURGER-DROP stores: Newcastle Central, inside Fayre Play at The Gate on Newgate Street, and Newcastle West on Westgate Road. Both are the home of proper SMASH AND FRIED CHICKEN BURGERS, cooked to order on the grill and in the fryer.

Newcastle Central at The Gate

Our city centre store sits inside Fayre Play at The Gate, NE1 5TG, a short walk from Eldon Square, Chinatown on Stowell Street and St James' Park. St James and Monument Metro stations are both close by, so it is easy to reach from anywhere on the Metro. It suits a quick lunch in town, food before the match or something to eat before a night out. There is no phone line here, so just walk up and order, or order online. It is open from midday Monday to Friday and from 11:00 at the weekend.

Newcastle West on Westgate Road

Newcastle West is at 448 Westgate Road, NE4 9BL, in the West End near Arthur's Hill, Fenham, Elswick and Benwell. Buses run along Westgate Road all day and it is only a few minutes from the city centre. It is open 12:00 to 23:00 every day, and you can call the store on 0191 273 3314.

What to order

Our smash burgers are pressed hard on a hot grill so the edges go crisp and the middle stays juicy. Start with a Cheese burger, or go for the Grilled Onion, the Halloumi, the Bacon with turkey bacon, the Spicy or the Doner. Fancy more? Try the Garlic Butter Mushroom or the Surf and Turf, and there are vegan options too. On the chicken side there are Classic and Spicy chicken burgers, Salt and Chilli Chicken, wings and tenders. Add loaded fries, a shake or a mocktail and you are sorted.
